*Drum Roll Please . . .*
My son will be serving in the Orlando Florida mission!!
We are very excited at our house. He leaves in January, so we'll have the holidays with him, and he'll be able to spend some time with his baby sister for her first Christmas. I'm just so happy for him and the new chapter of his life that is waiting for him.
Thank you to everyone who participated in my little contest. There were some really fun guesses!

And the winner is ME! (And Janice.)
Columbus Ohio (my guess) is 950 miles from Orlando. The next closest guess is Houston, which is 963 miles. Missed it by that much!
(Really, I think Janice is the winner. When I said Columbus I hadn't noticed that she'd already said Ohio. She was first.)
Congrats, Julie!
Phooey! I wanted to win your book!
But really, congratulations! That's so exciting!
My husband went to the Southern States mission, but while there it was divided a couple of times and he was in the Orlando mission the last half. He loved it. I have a nephew who lives in Florida between Orlando and Miami and he loves to cook. If it's within the mission boundaries perhaps your son will get a chance to eat one of his fabulous dinners.
Very nice! I served in Jacksonville, Fl. He is in for some beautiful weather. Northern Fl. is very different from Southern Fl., but it's a great place to be.
How wonderful that he'll be so close, relatively speaking. International calls for Mother's Day and Christmas are so difficult to figure out, especially from South America (my losing guess) with the time difference and bad phone lines. And shipping those requested packages from home will be much cheaper, too. :)
I guess I'll just have to buy your book, dang-nab-it!

The winner is: your son! He gets to spend 2 years in Paradise!
Why yes, I am from Florida. =) (Jacksonville, in fact - but I've been stuck here in Utah for 15 years. Where it's always Winter and never Chr-- well, I guess we do get Christmas.)
That's great, Julie. Your son will do great in serving the Lord. If my wife and I can donate, please let me know. Visit my website, www.joshuaberrybooks.com, and my email is on the home page. Just scroll down.

congratulations Julie! Florida is fabulous!
Oh, Julie, my husband will be so jealous! He's from Daytona and misses it like crazy.
Your son will have a wonderful time. It's a beautiful place with a lot of sweet church members. I wish him the best of luck!
And wow, I was way off. I said Madagascar.
