I Am Official

I have these Google alerts that look for my name and my book titles (or, more accurately, title singular since so far I've only put out the one) and today I received notice that I was listed on ebay and Amazon. I feel as if I've arrived. ;)

Congratulations! I'm waiting for my first to come out in July and I thought that would feel official! Always something more to go for.

Your blog on the late night brought back lots of memories. My youngest generally slept through the night but about once a week she would wake up every hour on the hour and just cry. Now she's at BYU and only occasionally does she mention waking up every hour during the night, but its to try to get herself up to do homework!

Course, it doesn't end there. Pretty soon you'll be waking up to take care of their coughts, then to prod/help with their homework, to take them to early morning practices, to see that they are safely home from a date and so on. Just when you think that since they have moved out so you'll be able to sleep through the night, you find the house is too quiet and that the slightest noises wake you since you know its not the kids. Its then you want to ask Kerry to loan you Bandit.

But I did come up with a solution. I used to think about the next scene I was going to write but that just stirred me up more, but I was coming up with some pretty good stuff so I decided to try to get up and get it on the computer. Twenty minutes later I couldn't keep my eyes open. Works every time.

Sweet dreams to both you and the little one. Enjoy.

Wow. This must be a very good book. The used sale price is asking more than the retail price (with the $4.99 in shipping). Well done....only bad thing is you and your publisher don't make a penny. That's okay, right?

You don't make money when your book sells at Amazon?

Actually, the ones listed are both new, I believe and being sold by LDS vendors. So I'd assume I did make money off of them as they are new and not used.

And I know how much authors hate resold books because there is no profit in it, but I'm all for anything that might help grow an audience. Someone who might not have picked up my first book and got it used might be the first person in line to buy my second book retail because they liked it. Or so I can imagine in my semi-lucid state. ;)

Absolutely, Sariah. I am much more likely to take a chance on a new, unknown author if I can pick it up more cheaply used. Found some of my favorites that way.

I think I saw mine for a buck twenty five on Ebay. Did wonders for my self esteem.
