Whitney Awards Gala -- Live Blogging

Knowing that many people who wanted tickets to the Whitney Awards Gala were turned away, and knowing that several finalist authors are eagerly awaiting the results, we have decided to live-blog at the gala.

Four people (Matthew Buckley, Tristi Pinkston, Jaime Theler, and Hilary Blair) will have laptops with them at the gala, and will update a blog throughout the night, posting thoughts, predictions, commentary, and results.

The live blogging will take place at whitneyawards.blogspot.com, and begin this Saturday, March 22nd, at about 6:00pm.

Unbelievable! Wow! Thank you so much. You are not only excellent storymakers but dreamfulfillers. You've set up a complete award program which includes a sense of honor more significant than even the reward, then, in less than a day, you've set up a system so that everyone can be involved! You guys rock! Not to get political or anything, but I've heard of a place out east here where they could use some people with that kind of know-how. You got any classes on getting things done? You certainly have the skill. Thank you.

Just checked out the blog. Wonderful idea--although not needed for moi because I got tickets. (Sorry for rubbing it in. I'm just getting over the flu and feeling a little frisky.)

One suggestion, however. Could you increase the font size of the posts to the same size as this one? The font on the other blog is a little small and some people will have trouble reading it.

No worries. That tiny font size is only on that header. The blog posts will be a standard font.

Now I just need to get my impressive Howard Cosell imitation to transfer to the written word.

You might include in your descriptin of Hilary that she's funny, beautiful, single, and a force to be reckoned with in her own right. She's Kerry's daughter, but so much more.

Hilary says she's going to do a Best- & Worst-Dressed Red Carpet expose. (Don't say you weren't warned, Karlene, Matthew, Jennie, et al.)

Under the theory that a picture is worth a thousand words, what she's really going to do is post pictures of the arrival of the stars and presentation of the awards. (She has this cool little chip that goes right from her camera into her laptop. Technology amazes me.) Anyway, we're both so excited! Even if I did already guarantee myself a spot on the "worst-dressed" list with a dress my daughter says is "okay if you don't mind looking like an aluminum foil witch." I don't mind. Most Utahns have only seen me dressed for the Mystery Dinner. At least they'll recognize me! :)
